Balatonszemes
Introduction
Balatonszemes is one of the most popular resorts on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, where historical heritage meets modern tourism. The town is rich in sights: the Baroque-style St. Anthony of Padua Church, the Hunyady Castle, and the Post Museum, as well as the Latinovits Zoltán Memorial Museum. Cultural experiences are complemented by gastronomic specialties, including the famous Kistücsök Restaurant. The beaches, marina, and adventure pool offer opportunities for relaxation and water sports enthusiasts.
Location & Accessibility
It can be reached by car via Main Route 7 and the M7 motorway, and by train on the Budapest-Székesfehérvár-Gyékényes line. Long-distance buses also stop in front of the Kőzségháza (Town Hall). During the main season, there are passenger boat services from Tihany and Balatonföldvár to the local port.
