Csopak

Introduction

Csopak is one of the most distinctive settlements on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, where cultural heritage, active recreation, and a rich historical past come together to shape its unique character. From Roman-era relics and medieval church ruins to villas from the Reform Era, the landscape bears the marks of many historical periods. Built on traditions of winemaking and viticulture, Csopak has become a key destination in Balaton’s bathing culture. The Csákány Hill lookout, birdwatching spots, and cycling nature trails offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. The local cultural center and Csopak Gallery serve as hubs for the municipality’s artistic life, while historic watermills and manor houses evoke everyday life from centuries past.
