Diás Watermill - Bakery Museum, Festetics Spice Garden and Herbarium
Introduction
The Diási Watermill is one of Gyenesdiás' most unique cultural and natural attractions, where traditional crafts, medicinal knowledge and historical heritage come together. The renovated watermill building houses three attractions: the Baking Museum, the Festetics Herb Garden and the Herbarium.
In the Bread Museum, the process of bread making is brought to life with the help of a 17-ton oven and period tools, while the Herbarium offers interactive activities, medicinal herb workshops, and tastings for visitors. The themed beds in the Herb Garden are based on the "Healing Giant" concept, where each plant has a healing effect related to a specific part of the body. The site is part of the Festetics estate and offers programs throughout the year for families, school groups, and nature lovers alike.
