Festetics Helikon Tavern
Introduction
The Festetics Helikon Taverna is located in Vonyarcvashegy, on the western shore of Lake Balaton, in a 200-year-old historic cellar. The building was originally part of the Festetics family's vineyard and served as an important center for the region's wine culture. The carefully renovated building now welcomes visitors as an interactive exhibition space, restaurant, and guesthouse. The "Da Bibere" wine exhibition presents the history of the Balaton wine region from Roman times to the present day, with special objects, digital tools, and spectacular installations. Visitors can see a 2,000-year-old Celtic wine jug, a restored wine press, and a 3D cinema. The Taverna is an ideal location for family programs or relaxation.
Location & Accessibility
The Taverna is located in Vonyarcvashegy, at 22 Helikon Street. It is easily accessible by car from Highway 71, and parking is available. By public transport, arriving from Keszthely, the location can also be reached on foot. The area is located along cycling and hiking trails, making it ideal for active recreation. The cellar is open from Tuesday to Saturday, by appointment.
