Gyenes Beach
Introduction
The Gyenesi Lidóstrand is located at the western end of Gyenesdiás, in a picturesque natural setting. and is particularly popular with families with young children. The beach offers a peaceful, family atmosphere, with a shady sandpit, shallow water and a safe playground. For older children, there is a sandy beach soccer and beach volleyball court, as well as a water bike rental service.
The beach is unique for its outdoor memory and torpedo games, and the Mozdulj Balaton program series, which welcomes visitors with sports competitions every Saturday. The wide selection of buffets, the cultured environment, and the beach wheelchairs available for people with limited mobility all contribute to a comfortable stay. In 2020, the beach was awarded the five-star Blue Flag certification.
Location & Accessibility
The beach is located in Gyenesdiás, on Oppel Imre Promenade. For those arriving by car, free parking is available at the end of Balaton Street, in front of the railway station, about a 2-minute walk from the entrance. By public transport, the "Gyenesdiás, Sportpálya" bus stop is about a 15-minute walk away, while the "Alsógyenes" train station is located directly next to the Oppel Imre promenade. The beach ticket office is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the high season. Tickets can also be purchased online, and admission is free with the Gyenesdiás Plusz card.
