Introduction

The József Egry Memorial Museum is located in Badacsony, on the promenade named after the painter, directly on the shore of Lake Balaton. The villa, which was once the home and studio of József Egry, has been operating as a museum since 1973. The exhibition presents the life's work of the "painter of Lake Balaton," who lived and worked on the shores of the lake for more than thirty years. His art is unique and solitary, and through his paintings he depicted the world of Lake Balaton not only the landscape, but also the atmosphere, light, and philosophy. In addition to Egry's major works, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, and the renovated and expanded building also provides an opportunity to showcase other artists. Visitors can gain insight into the painter's life his work, and the unique vision that has inspired art lovers for generations.

The museum is located at 21 Egry sétány. It is easily accessible by car, with free and paid parking available nearby. The nearest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away.

The museum is open until the end of September, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
