Introduction

The Majthényi Press House is located in the southern part of Balatonlelle, on top of the picturesque Kishegy, where gastronomy, wine and history form a unique combination. The former vineyard was built in 1784 by the Majthényi family, and the Baroque chapel next to it was dedicated to Saint Donatus, the patron saint of winegrowers. Today, the presbytery serves as a restaurant, where the wines of the Konyári family and oven-baked dishes such as lamb, pork ribs, goose breast, or guba with poppy seeds – provide a special experience.

The terrace offers a breathtaking view of Lake Balaton, stretching from Keszthely all the way to Tihany. What makes this place special is that it is home to Hungary's largest colony of bee-eaters, which is also significant from a nature conservation perspective.
