Old Town Market
Introduction
The Old Town Market is located in the heart of Veszprém's historic city center, on Old Town Square, offering a unique opportunity every two weeks to discover the products of local producers and artisans. The market aims to provide a community experience while supporting local producers and promoting sustainable consumption. The selection includes fresh greens, fruits, homemade cheeses, bakery products, jams, juices, handmade gifts, and zero waste products. In addition to shopping, cultural programs, live music, and gastronomic presentations also add to the atmosphere of the market.
The initiative was relaunched in the fall of 2021, with its historical roots dating back to 1946, when Óváros Square was already serving as a market square. The events also received special attention as part of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program.
Location & Accessibility
The Old Town Market is located on Veszprém Old Town Square, which is easily accessible on foot from the city center. For those arriving by car, paid parking is available in the surrounding streets and parking lots. The market is typically open to visitors on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
