Calvinist Church and Parish of Balatonkenese
Introduction
Balatonkenesei Református Templom és Parókia (Calvinist Church and Parish of Balatonkenese) brings together the Calvinist communities of Balatonkenese and Balatonakarattya at the eastern gateway to Lake Balaton. As an open community, it welcomes everyone who is looking for spiritual fulfilment and community experiences. The life of the congregation is enriched by church services, religious education classes, and cultural events.
The Calvinist Church and parish of Balatonkenese are not just buildings, but living testimonies to the faith, community and service that has shaped the spirit of the town for generations. The history of the congregation goes back centuries, and to this day it is an active participant in the local community and spiritual life.
We believe that our relationship with Jesus does not separate us from the 'real world'; on the contrary: with Him, we fare better in our everyday lives!
The architectural style of the church follows the folk traditions of the Balaton Uplands Baroque, which exudes both dignity and a familial air. The interior is simple but inspiring: the wooden benches, light-colored walls, and the sound of the organ combine to create the quiet atmosphere characteristic of Calvinist worship. The parish building is also of historical significance and hosts community events, Bible study groups, choirs, and congregation events.
