Introduction

Sáska is a settlement located in the peaceful, natural environment of the Balaton Uplands, with forests and fields that are perfect for excursions and community programs. It is located north of Tapolca, at the southwestern foot of Agártető, its historical monuments include the Roman Catholic church in Romanesque style (1250) and the statue of St. John of Nepomuk (1892). The protected Tájház (Country House) awaits visitors with a historical exhibition, while the Emberkő (Man Stone) and the St. James Spring offer a unique natural experience. Cultural life is marked by the village day and the strudel festival at the beginning of July. The village oven at the village hall is used for community events. A health center helps residents stay fit.

Location & Accessibility

Located about 7 km from Tapolca, it can be reached by car through Zalahaláp or Hegyesd. Public transportation is provided from the village in the direction of Tapolca and Nyirád, but it is especially infrequent on Sundays and public holidays. It can be reached on foot in 4-5 km from the neighboring settlements, which are served more frequently by buses.
