Introduction

Built in the 16th century, the name of this Renaissance-style Sgraffito House can be seen on its facade. It was named after its sgraffito decoration, which is considered unique in Hungary. The Italian word refers to a multi-layered plaster decoration, which involves applying two layers of plaster to the facade and then removing one of them according to a predetermined pattern.
