Szent Erzsébet liget

Balatonalmádi’s magnificent 10-hectare park stretches from the pier to Wesselényi Beach. It is a protected natural area.

The dominant tree species include white and black poplar, as well as white willow. Outstanding features of the park include a large bald cypress, a row of plane trees, and a pyramid-shaped willow bush. In the 1950s, several “weeping” varieties of trees were planted, and the collection was later enriched with yew, columnar arborvitae, pungent juniper, and various evergreen shrubs. Notable sights include the double row of willows with orange-red twigs and the orange mulberry tree.

Landmarks of the park include:

Almádi Pier, Music Pavilion, Bridge of Sighs, Irredenta Eternal Flame, statues of Petőfi, Kossuth, Rákóczi, János Váth, and Albert Wass, the Dezső Véghely Memorial Bench, and the “Handshake” Europe Sculpture Park.
