Szigliget Castle

Szigliget Castle is one of the most visited historical attractions in the Balaton Uplands, preserving the region’s past since the 13th century. Fully renovated, the castle offers a comprehensive tourist experience: exhibitions, interactive features, authentic demonstrations, and various events await visitors. In addition to its cultural and historical significance, the site boasts an outstanding natural setting with panoramic views of Lake Balaton and the Tapolca Basin. The castle is about a 10–15-minute walk from the center of Szigliget. By car, it is easily accessible within the village; from the designated parking area, a 400-meter uphill path leads to the entrance. By public transport, it is approximately a 10–15-minute walk from the “Szigliget, bejárati út” bus stop. Train connections are available in the neighboring towns of Badacsonytördemic and Balatonederics.
