Tihany Country Museums
Introduction
Tihany Country Museums are authentic examples of the folk architecture and lifestyle of the Balaton Uplands, consisting of two separate buildings: the Peasant House and the Fisherman's House. The aim of the country museums is to introduce visitors to everyday life in Tihany in the 19th20th century, the material world of the local peasant and fishing culture, and the housing culture of the time. The Peasant House is a residential building with an open kitchen and furnished rooms, showcasing the world of the mid-20th century. The Fishermen's House presents the history of fishing in Tihany and guild traditions. What makes the exhibition special is that it presents fishing not only through objects, but also through personal stories, for example, through the collections of Mrs Pál Pintér, "Aunt Lidi."
The fisherman's cottage brings Tihany's fishing history to life
