Introduction
The Vitorlázeum interactive exhibition on the history of sailing is located in Balatonfüred, on Tagore Street, on the first floor of the first sailing club on Lake Balaton. Open all year round, this new and unique offers a wide range of entertainment for all ages with its modern computer equipment.
The history of sailing on Lake Balaton is presented in a playful way, and visitors can try their hand at sailing, navigating, and even sailing on stormy Lake Balaton using a simulator, knot tying and hoisting sails. Among other things, interactive image and audio materials, a touchscreen information system, forty short films, an interactive map of Lake Balaton and a multilingual digital exhibition await visitors, providing an easy and entertaining way to learn about the history of sailing on Lake Balaton and its famous boats.
Location & Accessibility
Vitorlázeum is located at the western end of Tagore Promenade, near the pier, and is easily accessible on foot. By bus, take the bus to Balatonfüred, which stops at Vitorlás tér, directly opposite the building. Next to Vitorlás Restaurant on the ground floor, a staircase leads up to the exhibition hall, but there is also a stair lift for people with reduced mobility on the Balaton side of the building.
Paid parking is available in several designated areas in the vicinity, while parking on Huray Street is free of charge.
