Csodabogyós Cave
Introduction
The Csodabogyós Cave is located on the eastern edge of the Keszthely Mountains, near Balatonederics, and is one of Hungary's most unique underground natural treasures. With a length of more than 6.5 km and a depth of 136 meters, it is the sixth longest cave in the Danube region and the ninth longest in the country. The cave is named after the thorny wonderberry that grows in the area, and its uniqueness lies in its rich stalactite formations – in the "Hanging Garden" and the "Fairytale Land" rooms feature thousands of man-sized stalagmites and stalactites. During the adventure tours organized in the cave, visitors can explore the tectonic fissures, chambers, and shafts equipped with caving overalls, headlamps, and helmets to explore tectonic fissures, chambers, and shafts, accompanied by trained guides. The tours are available all year round, with advance registration required.
