Introduction

The Zánka Country House is an authentic showcase of the folk architecture and peasant culture of the Balaton Uplands. Built at the end of the 1800s, this thatched farmhouse houses an exhibition showcasing the local way of life, material culture, and farming. Visitors can learn about the everyday life of the inhabitants of Zánka through the period furnishings of the kitchen, pantry, clean room, and farm buildings.

The aim of the museum is to preserve and present the history and traditions of the settlement its traditions, and to create a living connection between the local community and those interested in it. In addition to the exhibition, periodic programs, craft workshops, and themed guided tours are also available.

Location & Accessibility

The Zánka Country House is located in the center of the village, at 13 Main Street. It is easily accessible on foot from the train station and bus stop, and there is free parking available nearby for those arriving by car. The museum can be visited by appointment.
